MURI-AUSMURI meeting 2022

The AUSMURI team proudly hosted the MURI-AUSMURI review meeting at The University of Sydney campus on the 23rd of May 2022. This included delegates from the US Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), the Australian Defence Science Technology Group (DSTG) counterparts and a few members of our collaborating organisations from the US. The event was organised as a week-long series of face-to-face meetings from May 23rd-27th, comprising presentations and lab tours both at USyd and UNSW. The formal event was followed with informal conference style presentations and visits through the week. Our MURI program lead Prof. Suresh Babu (UTK) and Katie O’Donnell (MURI PhD student from Iowa State) was with us for the entire week. We released the interim report at the review meeting that summarises the results, outcomes and achievements to date of a comprehensive global effort by teams in the USA and Australia to address the complexity of Additive Manufacturing. The meeting was a celebration of the sustained efforts of the entire team through the COVID pandemic and we were indeed very fortunate to have an in-person meeting after a series of global lock downs. We could also fit in a casual networking event at Manly, what a beautiful sunny day to wrap up the event after a rainy start! Follow on for a quick visual treat of the event.
