The University of Sydney Rocketry Team entered the 30,000 ft COTS category with the flagship rocket Bluewren and the SDL Payload Challenge with Callistemon and achieved 1st place in BOTH the 30k COTS and Payload categories. The team won the entire Spaceport America Cup, beating over 92 other teams and universities from around the world.

The titanium bulkhead manufactured by Sydney Manufacturing Hub (SMH) was a critical component in contributing to Bluewren’s performance. SMH sponsored the team, provided engineering support and introduced metal additive manufacturing into the team’s impressive skill set.
